Designforge was founded on a simple vision: to provide first-class tools and advice for engineering teams seeking to improve productivity – without sacrificing quality.
After a decade in the industry, working as both a mechanical design engineer and engineering team manager, I knew the key to productivity was maximising the time engineers spend engineering. I also knew improving this was challenging.
I tried a number tools and initiatives but nothing really moved the needle. Often what improved productivity also increased the risk of errors, requiring manual checking, negating any time savings. Other teams in the industry had the same problem, some spending hundreds of hours to create their own tools internally – often for them to stop working after the person who created them moved on.
Eventually I realised that if I wanted tools that were tailored to the demands of the industry I would have to create them myself. This was the motivation for founding Designforge; to provide first-class tools and advice for engineering teams seeking improve productivity – without sacrificing quality.
Today, Designforge offers a range of tools, software solutions and consulting services specifically tailored for mechanical engineering teams.
